Me of I

It’s a true fact,
I don’t really act.

If you think about it,
You’ll doubt about it.

You not gonna find,
What lies in my mind.

Sometime I get mad,
It also make me sad.

[Solved] Unable to check balance on BSNL Mobile (Invalid MMI Code)

I have just ported my Tata Docomo number into BSNL Mobile and it is working good. But I am not able to check my balance and recharge top up coupons because USSD code that we run, like *123#, are not working. It says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code".

Unfortunately, it is happening only in my Samsung Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 which is based Android 2.3.6 Ginger Bread. I tried on another cell phone and there was no error. Talktime balance showed up and even I recharged with the top up coupon.

My phone has dual SIM support and there is no corruption on both SIM ports. Message centre number for BSNL mobile is also correct and I am able to send SMS too. There was no problem with Tata Docomo either.

Don't know what's the problem with MMI codes.

If any one can help me please reply within comment section below.

Solution:
I just did reset factory of my phone and inserted a new BSNL SIM in it that I bought. This time it configured the the SIM correctly for USSD code and now everything is fine. I thing with my first BSNL SIM the phone could not do the configuration for USSD/MMI code and with the new SIM it configured successfully. And now USSD/MMI codes are also working my first SIM.

Tata Docomo lost one more customer

Why I have said 'one more' because I may not be the only person who was frustrated with the Tata Docomo's poor 3G service at our town and decided to move on with another cell phone network operator. I am using Tata Docomo for the past 1 year. I have activated 3G service only few months before. But I found its 3G service as an unpleasant one. So decided to port the number to BSNL.

First I went to RB Agencies, opposite of Big Bazaar super market in our town. It is an exclusive outlet for BSNL. But they failed to port my number, I don't know why. In 2 months around 4-5 times they have asked UPC (Unique Porting Code) for more trials, but all time it was just failing. At last they said to get a new number or go to the BSNL main office.

I went to BSNL main office and applied for MNP one more time. And here it is, after a week the number is ported to BSNL.

Hope I have decided for good by choosing BSNL. Expecting a good service from 'baap' of the cellular network operators.

Or I can port to another operator after 3 months :D :D .

"Why We Shout In Anger?"

Why we shout in Anger?

A saint and his some disciples went over to a river to take bath. At the bank they found a group of family members shouting at each other in anger. He turned to his disciples with a smile and asked.

"Why do people shout when they get angry?"

Fading out tracks in Rhythmbox

Ever wanted to fade out the tracks when you change and pause the songs in Rhythmbox, similar to Clementine and Winamp. Check out the steps below:
  1. In Rhythmbox Edit > Preferences > Playback.
  2. Enable Crossfade between tracks.
  3. Set Crossfade Duration at least to 1 second.
Rhythmbox Preference - Crossfade tracks (Screenshot)

Now on you will feel smooth fade while changing and pausing/playing back the tracks.

Oh.. Windows, I am tired of you

Everything is okay with my laptop because I mostly boot to Ubuntu and very often to Windows 7. Therefore I do not have to worry about viruses and other threats. Still I have installed ClamAV, just in case if I ever got to use it. I have never seen any virus or malware in a computer system which I have been under my control. At least for last 4-5 years. Because I have learned to use them with so much attention for safety and security.

But I think this fight for safety has not ended yet. I have no idea how my father's computer at his office has got infected with a malware threat named as One Half 3666. Every single file, even many system file has infected with it and Avast Free Edition is putting them all into the virus chest.

Spreadsheets, documents, executables, every type of files are infected. I decided to format the drives and reinstall Windows XP. I have restored all necessary official files from Avast's virus chest and backed up into my laptop and of course using Ubuntu.

And now reinstalling the XP. Unfortunately, dvd drive in the system is not working. So first I had to find a software to create a Windows XP bootable USB drive. What similarly we usually do with GNU/Linux distros. I got a nice tool named WinToFlash. Thanks to DuckDuckGo. Using this I installed XP in my 2GB usb flash drive. Initially it took more time than usual disk way installation.

Now installing is getting finished so let me get onto it. Come back later to hear more. ;)

50 km/litre mileage in my Yamaha FZ (153cc)

It is being 1 year I am riding Yamaha FZ 153cc bike. Till first service, from the Yamaha's authorised service centre it had around 48 kmpl mileage. Then it gone down to around 30 kmpl for the following 1 - 2 months. But I managed to increase it with economy level riding. I always try to manage the bike's speed between 40 - 50 kmph. It is not possible to maintain the same speed because of the traffic in town area. But because of perfect level of riding it then managed to give around 35 - 40 kmpl.

A mail from USA

Two days before I got a mail which was addressed from USA. I was shocked actually since there is no chance that someone would mail me from USA. Then I realised that its from DuckDuckGo.com team. They have sent some stickers of their logo which I applied for 1-2 months before (that time it was free). I'm so happy for these stickers and stick a small one inside my Lenovo G570 along with GNU.org's logo.

Have been busy...

For the last couple of weeks I'm doing some research in Android App Development. Android and Java are getting more interesting. Did compile some sample apps successfully. The target is to send data from an Android to PC using wifi. And I'm getting closer to it day by day.

In other angle, life is getting more busy. Even I started to forgetting the password of my email id!! :D :D

E-dirts is getting more traffic. Recently the site got a new theme. Iftivai is working hard to make the site more simple and attractive. We are also getting positive responds from the readers for the new theme. And we are happy about it. :)

We are trying to put more on site but it is not enough. So still we are looking for some bloggers/authors who would like to write on our site with great passion for writing. If you are interested, please contact Iftivai (Iftekhar Buiyan).

I've just downloaded Zorin OS. It has the same appearance as of Microsoft Windows and it is based on Ubuntu. Going to try it now.
