I lost my "telling air'

I was waiting for the end of validity of offer packs I've added to my Docomo number. Because its too long since I've used my Airtel number and wanted to replace them. Two days before offers were got expired so I put the Airtel SIM in phone. But it notified as 'Invalid SIM'. I tried to call on that number and that operator girl said "This number does not exists." That's the moment I realised that my Airtel number no more, mine. Because lately that number will be passed on to another person.

But I'm not worry about that because I already have Docomo and it gives me good enough offer packs that I need and getting enough coverage near by home. Airtel also has a good service but now I'm going to continue with Docomo.

At least now I don't have to worry about that number any more. :) :)

Trying to expand myself with more coding

Just finished a small project at office in C# .Net. This is my first project in my programming career. I'm quite happy about it.

I still need to improve more in C# .Net but I can't wait. So now I'm going look into other languages. By tomorrow Java classes are getting start at NIIT. I'm exited about that too.

For a self-programming-improvement I'm planning to give try for a deep look in all PHP, JSP and ASP. I don't how much could I manage with my time. But at least it would give me tendency to look into its basics.

For now installing NetBeans and Eclipse in Pinguy OS in my lap.

OMG! I love coding.... :)

A Mist

Engeyum Eppothum and 7aum Arivu

Last week I watched two Tamil films which changed the way of my thoughts a little bit. Engeyum Eppodhum and 7aum Arivu. Stories from both films give something to learn that all of us should understand and apply in our life.

Engeyum Eppothum is telling story about people who are travelling in two buses and those buses get into an accident because of high speed on highway route between Chennai and Trichy. It tells about the safe driving and shows how people loose their loved ones just because of a small mistakes that we make. It doesn't affect only the people who were the passengers but also to their family, relatives and loved ones. This is the second movie I've seen on Safe Driving after the Malayalam movie Traffic.

Gaming after 2 yrs.

Its being 2 years since I played any computer game for last time. Now I got some games from my friend. It has Prince of Persia and GTA Vice City, Cricket 2008 and some small games like Moto GP, Super DX Ball, Mario Forever, Shaag Chess.

DX Ball is my all time favourite. Opened DX Ball in Pinguy OS GNU/Linux. Since Wine was installed by default it opened and played very smooth. Then Chess. It has two gaming mode. 2D and 3D. Because of some technical reason the 3D mode rendered very slow. So I shifted it to 2D mode. Then it played well. But the Prince of Persia did not worked. Sound was ok but the 3D rendering capabilities were not enough for this game. So rebooted to Windows 7. And both Prince of Persia and GTA Vice City played well.

When I got these games years before the system configuration were very low. So that I never got chance to play these games in high resolution in my old Lenovo desktop. Now these games works very smooth in high resolution since the my Lenovo lap's system configuration is more enough than these games' system requirements.

I got GTA Vice City's Ultimate version. And I like to play the normal version. The only difference between these two versions is the cars. Ultimate version is a special editions with sports car instead of normal cars which are in normal version. Well, for now I got to adjust with this one.

I already have Age Empire II. But have not completed the basic level yet. I've few more games with me. Quake 4, GTA San Andreas, GTA III and few more. I have to look for those DVDs and CDs which is lying somewhere at home.

But for now I'm going to relax myself with these two games if I get some time or I'll make some time.

Petrol Price Hike knocked the door of the Strike

After a short interval petrol price again got another small promotion in India. And Malayalees got a small vehicle strike. All private transport service was off. So there was no regular private bus, auto-rickshaw on road. It is not being so long since strikes became like a rites in Kerala for every small issue. So it was not big deal for us. Since many staffs in our company to office in bus it was a off day for us.

I'm not a big economist or predictor but as others do I think is this really bad. (Not the strike ok, I'm talking about the price hike.) It is really getting worse day by day.

Instead of supporting the price hike why Govt. is not focusing on alternative fuel vehicles or alternative fuels which can be used instead of petrol or diesel. Not only the Govt. should be blamed, people like us also have to realise their actual needs spend on it as much as less fuel.

Well, by this strike I got the chance to complete the downloading of Pinguy OS. And now I'm going to replace Ubuntu with that.

As it is special days for our Muslim brothers and sisters, I wish everyone a very happy Eid Mubarak and more grand wishes. :) :)

Upgrade Time

Last day I've downloaded the Ubuntu 11.10 64Bit CD Image. But I did not get time to work on it untill this time. As I'm free now, going to upgrade my Ubuntu. USB Startup Disk is now ready. Some important files have backed up.

So... Lets Rollll......

His Inspirations never will die.

For two days I could not get online. Today (Oct 7, 2011) when I came to my office and checked for news, knew about Steve's peaceful death and it was totally like a big wonder-shock for me.

He was great inspirator for me just like to everyone. His speeches, his way of talk and mostly his way of presentation, all are like a electric charge that hit in our mind and makes us to think that there is no limitation for our dreams.

I personally believe that he is the only reason for today we all use computers with all this beautiful and simple layouts. His ideas are always symbol of simplicity and beauty.

Perhaps Steve has gone. But his inspiration will never die.

I'm a software developer now

After serving as Audio – Video Editor in Tarang BPC Ltd. now I'm shifting my career as a Software Developer in Relax Info-Tech (P) Ltd. I'm so exited because it was my day-dream to be a developer both for software and website. As I'm also doing BSc IT at NIIT, a higher diploma in software engineering, it would help me both in exams and at work.

My last Onam celebration at Tarang BPC Ltd.

On 7 of this month we had a Onam celebration at our office. Unlike last year, this time we had done celebrations after noon and worked till before lunch time. We also invited Anupama chechi, Nisha chechi and Smitha Chechi to attend the celebrations. But only Anupama chechi could attend it.

The Inspiration

I was alone at home on this Sunday and all I just did is watching TV even from the midnight. At midnight "The Fountain" was playing on Movies Now. I start to see it from the half but I like the story. Still many things is remaining to understand. I use to analyse and understand every situation and quotes (dialogs) from movies very deeply. They may inspire me, motivate me to take some important decisions which may leads my life.

For example, "with great power comes great responsibility", a popular quote from Spiderman movie is now seems like totally wrong. Today I heard a new one,

A Sudden Death

I was pain when I heard it. Never thought I would hear this soon. He was fine. Nothing was wrong with him. He was in good condition until this morning. He gone to temple since it is 1st of day Karkkadagam (Malayalam month). Came to home and lay down for a while as he felt some tiredness. And it happened. Siva ettan is no more. It was a sudden heart attack.

It was shock to everyone in our area. He was running a local shop. He was good man to everyone else. For past 10 years I know him. He was very kind to me too.

Well, I pray for him and god bless his family.

Ubuntu is not in boot menu list.

I've Ubuntu 11.04 and Windows 7 in my laptop. Just few hours before installed Fedora 15 by shrinking the partition where Ubuntu is installed. I had some bad feelings that something is going to happen. Though I decided to continue.

And something gone wrong with that installation. Installation was running from CD. I think some installation file did not got read correctly and so I stopped the installation. And again started installation from USB boot. Fedora started perfectly after installation. But in boot menu list it is not showing Ubuntu. When I checked from Ubuntu Live CD, found that Ubuntu partition is changed as something like "Linux LVM". It not ext4 anymore. I could not find any other option except to format it in other filesystems.

Most of my personal files, music, video files and software packages are in Ubuntu. And I don't want to format it.

So is there any way to change Ubuntu partition's filesystem back to ext4 or at least to open it so I can copy all of my files to another location and reinstall both Fedora and Ubuntu for a fresh start?

One more thing I want to know that is there any way to store my personal files at one and open in both Fedora and Ubuntu (or any other GNU/Linux distro, that I may install in future)?

[ Update: This issue is closed. From the other source I came to know that Fedora would overwrite the grub which was older version that the Ubuntu had at the time. So Fedora's grub did not detected the Ubuntu. ]

I wanted to download MS SQL Server Express Edition as I just want to practice in SQL Server for my studies. So I checked MS SQL Server website and after a little bit wandering on the site, got the download page from where we can download SQL Server 2008 R2 Express under "Free Database Downloads" section, for free.

Friends Friends Friends Forever

It was my birthday in 2007 and 5 of us went to the Malampuzha Dam to celebrate. That was the first day when I bunked my class and I wasn't aware of it. After two days it was another one's birthday, so we celebrated our birthdays together.


And it is a proof that I can't forget those days being with friends.


Software used:- Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop and MS Paint.

My Big B

Actually I'm not a crazy about any actor or actress. I was just learning video editing in Adobe Premiere.

During the course I wanted to work out on any video so randomly took few clips from the Malayalam movie "Big B" (starring Mammootty) and a background theme music from the Hollywood movie "The Matrix" (don't remember the name of the music song) and then mixed up both with some random thoughts of cuts.

And the whole 2 hrs movie shorted into 8 mins with a simple story.

Also used a software called 'Bluff Titler' to create a kind animation with my name which appears at right-down corner.

Pardon for the quality. I was not aware of bit rate and other settings for video quality at that time.

This Sunday went good.

This Sunday evening we, 3 friends went for a small shopping in Big Bazaar super market. Actually the plan was just to have dinner from outside. Then we decided to go to Big Bazaar. After wandering in the bazaar we baught few things. And had dinner from a restaurent. We had Ghee Rost, Chilli Porotta & a Pinapple Mint juice. That was so good.

Well then, this Sunday went so nice like this, having happyness and smile with friends.

This two are from a song in Kites starring Hritik Roshan which was not so much big hit. My friend Rakesh is a big fan of Hritik and I dedicate these tones to him. Right now he is in Chennai and working as Content Writer for websites. He got excellent talents in writings.

2048 Characters

I've a very low featured QWERTY mobile phone. It poorly support many
features. For e.g. heavy Java applications like Opera Mini 6 does not
work that much faster as in other mobile phones. Though it decently
run Java applications which use lower memory, like same Opera Mini's
4th version.

Opera Mini is preinstalled in the phone but it is 4.2 version. And its
totall capicity of characters while composing a mail in Gmail is 600.
So, as I had done settings to publish a post via email I could publish
a post with upto 600 characters only. And that was too small. :(

Recently, I did upgrade the application to 4.3 version and now when I
checked the character capacity while composing mail I got shocked. Now
it support total 2048 characters intead of 600. That means now I can
publish a bigger post than before from my phone. xD :D

Thanks to all developers of Opera Mini and Opera to provide such a
wonderful product. Because I was thinking to buy a new phone of Nokia
X2 QWERTY (don't remember the exact model number).

Well, now for the time being I changed my mind and decided to stick
with this Maxx MX868. Not only because it increased the character
capicity but it works faster too than previous version. Its new black
theme also feel cool.

I would love if Mozilla create a Firefox based on Java for Java Phones. :q

Blogging is my passion. That's why even mostly I cannot update my blog on Blogger.com I created a new blog on Tumblr.com. There is one more reason that i created this new blog, is I liked Tumblr so much because it is very easy to use, its has lots of nice themes and mostly it is very is to setup sidebar widgets as you can see on my Tumblr blog right now.

I also have blogs on My Opera, MySpace and one more on Blogger to share my technical knowledge. But all these still standing without any post from the beginning.

But now as if you are reading this post, I will cross-publish this post on all of them except on that technical one.

As far Tumblr feels great and I'm started to loving it as much as Blogger.

Never tried WordPress yet. May be I won't now. :D :D

I was missing my blog :=(

Its around 2 months I published post on my blog. I feel so pity on myself because I had decided to update it regularly. For this even I set an setting to publish post via email which I can send from my mobile phone (well it support only around 600 characters in my phone, though its enough to publish small posts).

Still all this time I could not obey my own decision. And that means I cannot obey myself. :(

Now this has to be changed. So again I'm deciding to update the blog as regular as I can.

Hope I can do this now onwards.... :)

Need help to install LibreOffice

Now LibreOffice got the final and stable version 3.3. But I'm unlucky, because in my PC it showing error while installing LibreOffice. The error is as shown below.

When clicked 'Cancel' it shows another as below.

If anyone know to solve this please help me.

I think this happens because once I used two accounts and OpenOffice was installed as in both accounts. Then uninstalled all softwares along with OpenOffice. Only from one account. And then removed that account since there is no need of that account anymore. Still OpenOffice was working in another account but not available in Add/Remove. Then I wanted a fresh install of LibreOffice. So I deleted OpenOffice folder from C:\Program Files\. Since then I'm getting the error messages as above.

Please help me to install LibreOffice. I'm so eager to get it stable version in my PC.

Please, I don't want to reinstall the XP.

This Sunday ended with "Traffic"

This Sunday we family went out for the Malayalam movie "Traffic". The story is nice. But movie is too senti. They have managed to keep suspence until interval. After it became boring. Not because of the storyline but the sentimental sequences. Otherwise the movie is good. It was a nice attempt among Malayalam movies with such story.

The story is about the Heart that has to be transported from a hospital in Ernakulam to another one in Palakkad within 2 hrs. for a Heart Transplanation.

I really inspired with some facts. So I would like to give 3.5 for story & 2.5 for the whole movie out of 5.
